Allow loading Google Fonts locally if needed, for GDPR reasons

Hi,
I would like to make a feature request, for Typography, to allow loading Google fonts locally instead of the Google's servers. It is required due to GDPR and some countries laws are insisting on this.
Your colleagues from the support forum suggested a workaround to download the google font and then upload it in the theme using the custom font section. Which is a good idea. But if you need to test a different font you would need to do the same every time. If you could also create a toggle like "load locally" vs "load from google's servers" for the google fonts options it would be great.
Thank you.

Hello @Clau8826,

We're excited to announce that our latest update brings a host of powerful features to elevate your website-building experience. Among these is the integration of several new Elementor-based page builders, including My Account, Posts Archive, Single Post, Search Results, and Portfolio pages. These additions ensure a more seamless and customizable layout experience.

Regarding the Google fonts being saved and loaded locally, we've included it in the latest XStore 9.4.0 and XStore Core plugin v5.4.0 updates (prnt.sc/YTYgu4v330gf).

We’ve also introduced other noteworthy features like the Built-in Waitlist, Search Analytics, Template Overrides Parser, and Linked Variations Products and others. Each of these is designed to give you greater control and flexibility over your site's design and functionality.

For a full rundown of what's new, feel free to check out our detailed changelog at xstore.8theme.com/update-history/.

We hope these new features meet your needs, and we’re eager to hear your thoughts!

Best regards,
Jack Richardson

Unfortunately due to the fact that google fonts are loaded from google's servers, any website that does this is not gdpr compliant. There are been cases where websites were sued ( and lost ) due to this. Most themes already fixed this by serving the google fonts from a copied file on the site instead of loading it from google directly. So if I were to choose Open Sans for example in the theme options, it would copy all the files locally and create the link from there. I know you can download it and load it as a custom font, but what about with fonts that have the styles broken across multiple files, would need to download and upload them all like this.

Unfortunately this is VERY important, not just a gimmick request.

Thank you

I wanted to submit this request but I found it here. Can you add an option of deleting all traces of google fonts! Even if you load locally, there is still a link of google fonts in the Header! can you find a solution to that too? Thank you.
