Allow The "Sold / Instock" Count track sales accross product variations and not just single products

The feature which allows customers to see how many have sold and how many are available.
It does not function at all when products are a variable product and not just a single product. Which means I am unable to use that feature as 90% of my products have variations and it looks untidy on the website not having the info across all product placeholder.
Also it glitches out, in the image attached you can see that the product on the left says 1 sold 1 available, that's incorrect as there are over 40 available within the variations and. nowhere have I listed 1 sold, I available.
On the second image you can see tracks none of the sales.
